Welcome to the first ever BLOG post for Paradigm Rehab!
I am super excited to be writing this post as the Chief Operating Officer here at Paradigm. I am thrilled to be given this opportunity! My goal for today’s post is to write a patient success story, and I WILL get to that. But first, if given this chance to free write, I am going to dive into what it has like to be a part of this company thus far. And here it goes…
I started my time here as one of the clinical directors in May 2024 before moving into my current position of COO. I had just closed my private practice, and I was looking for a role that would marry the leadership skills I obtained during my Ph.D. and my love for the clinical side of things. I was not sure where or how I would find a role of this nature, but I had a feeling it would come to me eventually. And it did. Enter Ella- the Director of HR (at the time, Now Director of Research and Development) here at Paradigm, who interviewed me and brought me in as a part of the team. Ella’s description of Paradigm was that it was a fairly new practice that was growing rapidly and constantly changing to meet the needs of our expanding patient population. And boy, was she right! From day one here at Paradigm, I have watched the magic unfold and this company grow and flourish every single day. I have never worked with a more passionate, caring, eager to learn and grow team that truly feels more like family with each passing day. We care about each other’s work, we support one another, and we do it with determination, hard work, and love. What an amazing team we have here. And it is because of this amazing team that I am able to share this patient success story with all of you. It takes the hard work of HR to bring in clinicians to support our patients in the field. It takes the determination of our intake department to bring in more patients for us to service and help. It is the dedication of our coordination team to get our patients paired with the right clinicians. And it is was job as one of the Clinical Directors to educate, train, and support our clinicians out in the field. At the start of my time at Paradigm, I joined a therapist in the field to complete an AAC evaluation for her patient. Her patient was a nonspeaking child who was in need of an AAC device to communicate with his family, friends, teachers and classmates. Together with the Speech Therapist and the AAC consultant, we were able to get the patient approved for a communication device. On the patients first attempt at using the device independently, he was able to navigate to the “Family” page set and use the device to say “Mom” and “I love you”. The look on Mom and Dad’s faces is something that I will truly never forget. It is moments like this that make what we do so rewarding. It is a patient communicating their feelings with the help of a Speech Therapist, it is a patient’s ability to move safely around their home with the help of a Physical Therapist, it is a patient able to complete their ADLs with the help of an Occupational Therapist.
As you continue to follow along on this blog, you will read more about us in the leadership team and also more stories from clinicians themselves out in the field. We do hope you follow along and watch this amazing company of ours continue to grow and service more and more patients every single day. Till next time!
